I have known architect Alisa Samoilenko since 2016. We have met in a vibrant home town Odessa — the motherland of talents and wisdom. I have the strong confidence that we will see architect’s work in the nearest future in Top NYC magazines. I had the opportunity to talk to Alisa and discover her journey to the global practice in architectural world.
What inspired you to start your career in the architectural field?
My journey into the architectural field has been deeply rooted in my childhood experiences and a lifelong passion for transformation and creativity. From an early age, I found immense joy in envisioning and improving the spaces around me. It was as if I had a natural inclination to reimagine environment and bring my ideas to life.
How did you come up with the idea of creating interiors/artworks/products/structures?
After I entered college to study interior design, I never parted with design.
Who was your inspiration? and who are you following today?
I am inspired by a variety of extraordinary designers and architects around the world, here are a few of them: Flack Studio, Jamie Bush+Co, Kelly Wearstler, Frame work studio, Foster+Partners
Your short Bio (what did you do before this? What’s your background?)
My experience began with working in various architectural studios and furniture companies in Ukraine. I have always been interested in adopting new experiences and learning, which remains to this day within the framework of an independent studio.
